Director Shannon Sable has announced the cast of Company, the fifth and final MainStage production in the 2012-13 season. Sable and Music Director, Gail Deagan, have assembled a cast of Civic veterans and newcomers for this groundbreaking Stephen Sondheim classic.

Sondheim collaborated with George Furth (book) and Harold Prince (director) to create Company, the first of the Sondheim/Prince shows that were to lay the foundation for the post-Golden Age Broadway musicals. Company was the first non-linear, “concept,” musical.

Set firmly in, and often about, New York, Company follows five married, once married, or soon to be married couples and their mutual friend, Robert, a 35 year old bachelor who has been unable to connect in a long-term relationship. The relationships are presented in a series of vignettes, primarily through Bobby’s eyes, so that we see the less than ideal aspects of commitment. However, it is obvious to the audience that the committed are happy. Eventually, Bobby learns that while relationships aren’t perfect, they are a necessary part of “Being Alive.” Company Includes the songs “Getting Married Today,” “The Ladies Who Lunch,” and “Being Alive.”

The Forest Mash – Bicycle Lafayette Loves Mountain Biking

This event is still a little up in the air due to a need for a hefty some of cash needed for insurance to cover the event!

Here is the current plan:
Lafayette and West Lafayette are home to 5, that’s right 5, wonderful mountain bike trails. One of these trails, the beginner trail, is located at the Tippecanoe Amphitheater.

We have permission from Tippecanoe County and the property owners of the amphitheater to host the first Fastest Lap Mountain Bike Race that Tippecanoe County has seen (that we know of). The date is set, as is the time…we just have a few final details to work out.

Thanks to the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association and Tippecanoe Mountain Biking Association for helping us get this set up!

IF we can’t meet the insurance requirements then we will just be sponsoring a trail ride and mountain bike education day so mark your calendar for Mountain Bike fun!

Start: 05/25/13 10:00 am
End: 05/25/13 1:00 pm
