The 40th Indiana Fiddlers’ and The Whipstitch Sallies

Could it have gone any better for the 40th annual Indiana Fiddlers’ Gathering?

We were on the scene early Friday to volunteer and stayed late into Sunday. While the sun was hot and the grass was dry, the big shady oak trees gave plenty of room for people to watch and hear moving music all weekend long. The hot rays shining through the leaves as the sun crossed the sky, made the people there engage in a slow motion version of musical chairs. When the sun moved in and your spot got too hot, you looked side to side trying to find the newest shady spot provided.

We camped out the whole weekend. One particular group we ran into often was The Whipstitch Sallies. These three ladies from Greenwood, IN, showed up and helped set up the stage with us on Friday morning.

Lead singer, Allie Burbrink, wasn’t in the video, she was busy helping set up the stage. But Manny Cervantes and I talked with Katie Burke and Kat Erickson about the Fiddlers’ scene in the clip below:
